Exotic Elephant Ears Collection Description

These exotic treasures are larger than life!

Breck's® Elephant Ears bring the spectacular size and beauty of tropical foliage to you!
When was the last time you saw a plant so magnificent, so commanding, it left you speechless? You may be at a loss for words when it comes to Elephant Ears from Breck's—but we're certainly not.

Breathtaking in stature.
Exotic Elephant Ears are beloved for leaves that are so astonishingly immense, you can practically hide among them. Gently swaying in the summer breeze, they reveal uncommon contours and lush colours. Grow them in open areas as specimen plantings. Or position them among existing beds to add dramatic height and interesting texture.

Easy to grow and care for.
You will receive prime quality, #1 specimens at the proper planting time for your area. Elephant Ears prefer bright sunlight, but also do well in partial shade. They'll reward you with exceptional size and beauty from early summer till autumn's frost. In zones 3–7, we recommend bringing your Elephant Ears inside for winter storage, then replanting in spring.

This collection includes one each of the following varieties:

  • White Lava: A splash of creamy white lights up the centre and spreads out along the veins of large, glossy green leaves. Right where it meets the sleek, dark stalk, each leaf is stamped in purple. White Lava gives you big impact without taking up too much room—forming in a dense clump, it makes the most of its 3–4' spread. It's lovely in a large planter or a tropical border. Reaches a mature height of 3–4'. Colocasia esculenta 'White Lava' PP24481

  • Coco: From June until the first frost, enjoy huge, heart-shaped to arrowhead shaped leaves—up to 2' long. Just like any elephant ear, Coco loves the water! It makes a lovely potted plant, which can be even sunk into a garden pool throughout the summer for a beautiful and very happy aquatic display. Reaches a mature height of 3–6' tall. Colocasia esculenta 'Coco',

  • Black Magic: Black Magic provides a breathtaking visual treat from summer to autumn, starting with light green, 2' long foliage that transforms to a deep, dark dusty purple as the leaves absorb sunlight. Growing up to 6 feet high with a spread up to 6', try it as an ornamental specimen planting for open areas or to greet guests at your door. Colocasia 'Black Magic'

  • Hilo Beauty: Featuring distinctive, heart-shaped, variegated leaves of green, white and yellow in a jungle-camouflage pattern, Hilo Beauty is at home both in sun and shade. A robust grower in damp soil, it generally reaches 24–36" tall and spreads 2–3'. This variety is a good semi-aquatic plant for a pond or border, but will also flourish in a garden throughout summer till the first frost. Alocasia 'Hilo Beauty'
